Easy Installation
Removing your current Tesla Emblems
If you have a hair dryer or heat gun, start by heating up the emblem to soften the adhesive behind it. Don’t get it too hot – you don’t want to damage your paint.
Then, use dental floss or fishing line to slowly saw through the adhesive behind the Tesla Emblem. It’s surprisingly easy to get through it.
Be sure to save your Tesla emblems if you have a lease as Tesla may charge you if you return it without them. I sandwiched them between wax paper, put it in a ziplock bag and tossed it into the frunk.
If you have adhesive on the car after removing the emblem, you can spray it with WD40 and rub it with a cloth. This will make it much easier to remove. If it’s really tough, find an old credit card or plastic scraper to gently push at the adhesive to remove it.
Then clean off the WD40 using an alcohol prep pad, or dishwashing liquid.
Mounting your new emblems
The curved emblem goes on the back of your car as it’s a concave surface. Peel off the red 3M tape backing on the emblem, and place it where the original emblem was. The flat emblem goes on the hood. Put pressure on the emblem for 30 seconds to establish strong adhesion.
